This butter churn is a hand-cranked model commonly used in households from the mid-1800s through the 1940s to convert cream into butter. This type of churn replaced earlier, more simplistic wooden dash churns and was a common household item. The wood is in perfect condition and the tin shows normal wear for it's age. Nice charming piece!
