This lovely Delft antique brooch featuring a hand-painted blue and white porcelain center with a windmill and landscape design is set in a sterling silver twisted rope design bezel. Made in the Netherlands, it is signed "V.K. Delft" by the artist, Van Katwijk. Van Katwijk began as a pottery painter in 1914. A charming accessory suitable for collectors or everyday wear.

C-clasp with tube hinge (dates to approximately 1890-early 1900's)
European Sterling setting (.835) Marks are on the side of the C clasp. The 835 is in the blade of dagger mark (Dutch hallmark). Can be seen with a jeweler's loop at high magnification. There is a second mark but not as clear to distinguish.
Very good condition with silver patina and minor scratches (visible with magnification) commensurate with age.
